Biography Carson Kievman is a composer from Sarasota, Florida. He earned a B.F.A. in interdisciplinary studies and an M.F.A. in music composition from the California Institute of the Arts and another M.F.A. in music theory as well as a Ph.D. in music composition from Princeton University. He has lectured at music conferences and music schools across the country and earned residencies at Tanglewood, MacDowell, and the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs, among others. He is also the recipient of numerous awards including several grants, the Miami New Times Mastermind Award, and dozens more. Over the course of his career, Kievman has worked as a composer, librettist, stage director, artist director, professor, lecturer, and research associate at numerous universities, art institutes, and music groups nationwide.
