Biography
Frank Schiro has been working in and around the world of musical theatre since 1990. He is a composer, conductor, musical director, coach and instructor. As a coach and educator, Frank has worked with a variety of institutions in and around New York, including Marymount College, LEAP New York, Inside Broadway, and TADA. His employment at NYU began in 2001.

Frank's compositions include Pryor Rendering (music and lyrics): world premiere production, fall 2016, CityRep Theatre, Oklahoma City/American Theatre Company, Tulsa, OK; Twice Upon a Birthday,(music and additional material [commission: Connecticut Opera, Hartford]): world premiere production, fall 2015-spring 2016, The Happy Prince, (book, music, and lyrics: NYMF production, 2004), The Fun Factory, (lead composer, The Yard, Martha's Vineyard), The Beloved Dearly (Music, TADA Theatre), Dog and His Master, (Music and sound design. Lark Theatre - Composer in Residence 1994-1996); Twelfth Night, Wild Pantalettes of Verona, A Midsummer Night's Dream (Incidental Music and sound design, American Globe Theater). Regional: The Trip to Bountiful (music, stage one, Wichita), All in the Timing (music, Pittsburgh City Theatre/Northlight Theatre, Chicago – recipient: Best Show of 1994, Pittsburgh Post Gazette; recipient: two Jefferson Award Nominations, 1995). He composed the score for the short film Pepe and Pierre (Official Selection: Atlantic City Film Festival, Providence Film Festival) and is the recipient of a Meet the Composer Grant and the American Liberty Grant. He is an alumnus of the Tony-award-winning advanced BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop.

As musical director and/or conductor in and out of New York, Frank's credits include How to Succeed..., Sweeney Todd, They're Playing Our Song, Fiddler on the Roof, Godspell, Closer Than Ever, Oil City Symphony, Back to Bachrach, Little Shop of Horrors, Evita, Snoopy!!! and A Dog's Life.
