Biography
Sally Reid was born in East Liverpool, Ohio. She holds the Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin and is Professor of Music at Abilene Christian University where she served for eleven years as Department Chair. Reid was editor of the ILWC Journal (International League of Women Composers) from 1991-1995. She serves as site administrator of the IAWM Web Site and as listowner for the IAWM distribution list. Dr. Reid has received annual ASCAP awards since 1987. She was named a Faculty of the Year (1990-91, ACU College of Liberal and Fine Arts), and Outstanding Educator (1995-96, ACU College of Arts and Sciences) and received an Innovative Use of Technology in Teaching award (1995, ACU Center for Teaching Excellence). Her Figuggi Fanfare received First Prize at the 1998 Festival of Women Composers at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Sally Reid HPC #09747.
