Christina Campanella
Composer

Biography
Christina Campanella is a composer, vocalist and sound artist who creates music and sound-based works across disciplines. Her pieces for theater, film, installation and playback blend songwriting and composition with aural design, weaving found sounds, ambient textures, and a dreamy avant-rock sensibility into cinematic soundscapes and deconstructed art songs.

As a vocalist/performer, Campanella has worked with a constellation of artists in downtown theater and independent film since 1998, including Richard Foreman, Theodora Skipitares, David Greenspan, Phil Soltanoff, Jim Findlay, and Mallory Catlett. She has played keyboards and accordion with various New York bands, and frequently performs the operas of composer/visual artist Joe Diebes.

She is a three-time recipient of NYSCA Individual Artist Commission in Film, Media and New Technologies, as well as support from the NY State Music Fund, American Music Center, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation, and holds a BA in Music and Theater from Bennington College.
