Biography Daphne is the librettist for two operas by Thomas Pasatieri, "The Family Room," which premiered in 2011 at the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, and "The Martyrs," which premiered in 2012 at the DiCapo Opera Theatre in New York City. Both are published, and available from Theodore Presser. She made her directorial debut with "The Martyrs." Her play "Paternus" was premiered in Los Angeles in the summer of 2014 at Rogue Machine Theatre. She has contributed film criticism to Cinespect.com, and worked as a freelance journalist.
Daphne studied writing at NYU, and Stony Brook Southampton under the instruction of Emily Mann, where she was awarded the 2010 playwriting prize and scholarship. As an actor she studied at the LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts, the Lee Strasberg school, the Steppenwolf School, and the Piven Theatre, and acted professionally from age four.
In 2017 Daphne and her husband Eli Rose launched The No Ring Circus, an avant-garde theatre project featuring their two clowns, Fiddles and Oboe, and set to an original musical score. For more information about the project visit: www.thenoringcircus.com
Daphne works as a multidisciplinary artist, regularly collaborating with other artists both as creator and re-creator, with a focus on pushing the boundaries of storytelling. She currently splits her time between New Orleans and New York City.
