Biography
Winner of 'The Moth' StorySLAM, David has performed F*ck Tinder: a love story more than 90 times throughout North America, selling out almost every show from Vancouver to New York City.

David has toured 6 other comedic solo shows: Eat Thy Neighbor (inspired by a trip to Papau New Guinea), Virtual Motion (A One-Man Hyper-Opera), Monks and Sluts and Statesmen (Oh, My!) (an avant punk puppet cabaret), Raging Love (for and about Spalding Gray), Trippin' (a road-trip rock opera), All Yogis Be Crazy (a comedic offering for yoga festivals) and Total Novice (based on the film crackwhorepornstarlove).

His newest shows include Mississippi Yankee about his time spent in Clarksdale, Mississippi "The Birthplace of The Blues" and Delta Deep, when he got marooned in the Mississippi Delta much longer than expected during the pandemic. He'll be performing those shows and a dozen more premieres at The Story Emporium in 2022.

He's directing the pilot of F*ck Tinder and is finishing a book about living and working with his mentor Spalding Gray at an arts colony shortly before his suicide called Never Meet Your Idols.

David is a trained opera singer and Jonathan Larson Award-winning producer as well as a writer/composer of 7 evening-length operas/musicals, including: Trippin' (LaMaMa ETC), No God But Yearning: A Prayer Cycle (Mabou Mines and The Public Theatre's: New Works Now!), Monks and Sluts and Statesmen (Oh, My!)(Edinburgh), WARNING!: eXplicit Material (Disney/ASCAP, Dixon Place), Virtual Motion (Sacred Fools, HeRE and 20 other venues), Ecstatic Journey: a multimedia opera (American Opera Projects), and STAR DREK!: a musical parody which ran in Seattle for 2 years to the delight of Shatner & Nimoy who came to see it and loved it.

David has worked in the writers' rooms of the TV shows: HawthoRNe (TNT), Swingtown (CBS), and Jonas (Disney) as in The Jonas Brothers. Yup. I hung with Kevin, Joe and Nick. They don't wear underpants. I wish they did.

David has told stories on the stages of The Moth, The Moth Grandslam, Porchlight, Bawdy Storytelling, StorySlam Oakland, BINA, That Really Happened? at The Money House, About Last Night, TMI Storytelling, Sedona Yoga Festival, Adobe Books Sex & Culture Festival, Ten Tops, TopTale, The Leimert Park Griot, and Fame: A Storytelling Event. And he's also been a podcast guest on: "Date/Able", “Unqualified” with Anna Faris (and Dennis Leary), "I Found It on The Internet","Dates & Mates" with relationship coach Damona Hoffman, "Regarding Sex" on Radio Mutiny w/ Spycey Spyce, "Cin's Chat Corner," and “T&A Talk About Sex.”

And as co-founder of the non-profit juggernaut Raw Impressions, Inc.. and RIPFest he produced the world premieres of 170 of ten-minute musicals and 60 short films from 2001-2006 with over 2000 amazing artists in New York & LA including Oscar, Emmy and Tony-winning talent like Jon Spaihts (writer, Dune), Alex Woo (EP: True Blood), Tonya Pinkins (star: Caroline or Change), Jack Lechner (producer: Fog of War), Rachel Axler (writer/producer: Parks & Rec) and Rachel Sheinkin (writer ...Spelling Bee)

David's also a speechwriter, filmmaker, branding and social media expert. With his shingle the Keynote Whisperer, David helps executives craft winning keynotes at major national conferences. With Jade Lake Media, David has created social media and video campaigns for artists, entrepreneurs and Fortune 100 companies from The Loop to Microsoft.

David's also a crowdfunding expert who wrote the book Kickstart This! and who has created strategies and run campaigns that have raised over $1,000,000. He's helped launched companies including the Jewish subscription box, Hello Mazel, the Australian based app/start-up “:Different” and numerous films and albums including #Stuck starring Joel David Moore from Avatar, The Woman Astronaut, an orchestral album by A-List film orchestrator & composer Penka Kouneva, and The Water Phoenix by award-winning African-American filmmaker Bola Ogun which launched her career as a hot TV director of everything from "Queen Sugar" to "Siren."

David studied politics at Princeton with a focus on the development of the youngest independent African country Namibia. He also got a Masters in Music composition at Northwestern after a brief stint at Juilliard - like all good comedians.
