Biography Michael Hall trained at the National Theatre Workshop Company in Western Australia in the 1970’s and then worked in radio, television and theatre as an actor, director and writer. In 1979 he appeared in the opening production at the Gate Theatre, Notting Hill and in 1989 directed and performed in London´s West End with his play Sharing. More recently he has specialized in opera, being director in 1996 of Garden Opera Company, a professional company touring London and the South of England. In December 1996 he directed the Christmas opera Hansel and Gretel at the Barbican Centre in London. In 1997 he was director and librettist of Dronning Boudicca at the contemporary opera house in Copenhagen and at the same house in 2003 was librettist and director of the full length Gesualdo. In 2004 his New Lands, No Borders with music by Fabrizio Festa was performed in Bologna, Lima (four performances), Buenos Aires (Teatro de Colon), at the Guggenheim in Bilbao with performances in 2005 in Italy, Lithuania and South America. His works have recently been composed in Italy (3 works), Denmark (2), New York (3), Australia (4), California, Norway, Israel and New Zealand.
