Biography Born in North Carolina, raised in Arizona, and now residing in New York, Nat Cassidy in an award-winning playwright, director, actor, and musician. Nat has appeared in television shows like "Blue Bloods" (CBS), "Bull" (CBS), "The Following" (Fox), "The Good Fight" (CBS), "Quantico" (ABC), "The Affair" (Showtime), "Red Oaks" (Amazon) "The Last O.G." (TBS), "High Maintenance" (original web series), as well as on stage at venues such as Lincoln Center, Cherry Lane, The Public, SoHo Playhouse, Classic Stage Company's East 13th Street Theatre, The Arclight, 59E59, Theatre Row, P.S. 122, Manhattan Theatre Source, The Gallery Players, 45th Street Theatre, The Players Theatre, The Players Club, and many others.
Nat is "one of New York City's rising playwrights, with numerous productions and awards, critical acclaim, and a reputation for producing intelligent, bold, darkly comic plays with one foot in horror and the other in literary allusion" (Usher Nonsense). His work has been produced and/or developed at The Kennedy Center, Washington National Opera, Primary Stages, The Flea, One Minute Play Festival (The New Ohio), The Players Club, The Players Theatre, LaMaMa ETC, Flux Theatre Ensemble, Nosedive Productions, Piper McKenzie, Adaptive Arts, CAPS LOCK Theatre, Retro Productions, Blood Brothers Present, Manhattan Theatre Source, The Gallery Players, The Brick, The Den Theatre (Chicago), American Theatre Company (Oklahoma), World's Stage (Wisconsin), and others. His work has been published by Sam French, Broadway Play Publishing, New York Theatre Experience, Smith & Kraus, Applause, and Indie Theatre Now. Nat is an alumnus of Primary Stages' ESPADrills and was commissioned by The Kennedy Center as part of the inaugural American Opera Initiative to write a libretto with composer Scott Perkins, which the Washington Times called "brilliant" and "remarkable" (you can read more of the project's stellar press here).
Nat is also an acclaimed novelist. In 2017, he wrote the novelization for the hit podcast Steal the Stars (written by Mac Rogers and produced by Gideon Media/Tor Labs). His book was included on Best Of lists that year by NPR and the Chicago Review of Books, as well as named a notable new release by The Verge and Kirkus Reviews. (Nat also plays beloved character Lloyd on the Steal the Stars podcast.) In 2019, he signed a two-book contract with Tor's new all-horror imprint, Nightfire, the first book under which is a serial killer/reincarnation thriller titled Mary. Look for it in bookstores nationwide July 19, 2022!
