Biography
STEPHEN M. WEINER is the founding chair of the health law practice at Mintz, a law firm with offices in Boston, New York, Washington, DC, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego and London. He has represented health care companies in a broad array of legal matters, including strategic positioning; mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures; and regulatory and reimbursement matters. He has worked internationally, for example developing the health regulatory structure for Dubai Healthcare City. In addition to chairing American Lyric Theater, Steve also serves currently as Board Chair of the HealthWell Foundation a tax-exempt organization that provides patient assistance and premium support for persons receiving costly medical treatment and drug therapies; and as chair of the Governance and Audit Committee and on the executive committee of Jacob's Pillow. He has served as the co-chair of the International Bar Association's Healthcare and Life Sciences Committee and as a trustee of the Boston Ballet and of Opera Boston. Steve was named by Best Lawyers as a Lawyer of the Year for Health Care Law in Boston and by Nightingale's Healthcare News as an Outstanding Hospital Lawyer. He is a recipient of the Good Guy Award from the Massachusetts Women's Political Caucus and the Massachusetts Medical Law Report's Rx for Excellence Leaders in Quality. He is a graduate of Harvard College and of the Yale Law School.
