Biography Simon Robson studied philosophy and politics at Cambridge and trained as an actor at RADA. Recent engagements include Elyot in Private Lives and Professor Higgins in Pygmalion, both at the Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre, and Prospero in The Tempest for the Singapore Repertory Theatre. His first play, The Ghost Train Tattoo was premiered at the Royal Exchange and his book of short stories, The Separate Heart, was shortlisted for the prestigious Frank O’Connor Prize in 2007; his first novel, Catch, was published in 2009, both with Jonathan Cape. Work in progress includes a musical, with music by Alan Price, Memory Hotel, and the libretto for a new Opera, Schoenberg in Hollywood, with the composer Tod Machover for Boston Lyric Opera to be premiered in 2018.
