Becky Starobin

Biography
Becky Starobin was trained as a violinist and began her professional life as a teacher at New York University and as founder of the Suzuki string program at The Third Street Settlement School. She became the President of Bridge Records, Inc. in 2005. In 2011, she was approached by Danish composer Poul Ruders, who asked her to write a libretto for an opera based on a story by the Brothers Grimm. After writing a scenario for a two-act opera, she collaborated with husband David Starobin on the libretto for The Thirteenth Child.
