Biography
DWIGHT TAYLOR and REGINALD LAWRENCE wrote for Broadway and Hollywood. Taylor was introduced to Cole Porter when writing The Gay Divorce which introduced the sensational “Night and Day” and was later adapted into a motion picture starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. This was followed by Top Hat, with music by Irving Berlin, shortly after which Mr. Taylor was invited to London where he worked on musical comedies. Returning to the US, he adapted The Awful Truth for Columbia and from then on was associated with motion picture writing, such as Rhythm on the River, Kiss the Boys Goodbye and Paris in the Spring. Mr. Lawrence was a playwright known for Men Must Fight, Harvey House, If This Be Treason and Feathers in a Gale.
