Tucker Culbertson

Biography
Tucker Bolt Culbertson is from Gray Court, South Carolina. He is presently Assistant Professor of Law at Syracuse University, where he is also on faculty with the LGBT Studies Program and the Institute on National Security and Counterterrorism. Previously, Tucker was a Fellow with the Center for the Study of Law and Culture at Columbia University, and was a Lecturer in political theory at UC-Berkeley and San Francisco State University. Tucker earned his J.D. at UC-Berkeley, where he received the American Jurisprudence Award for Feminist Jurisprudence. He earned his A.B. (magna cum laude) from Princeton University, where he studied literary theory and theater. Tucker is presently completing his Ph.D. in the Jurisprudence and Social Program at UCBerkeley. His writing primarily engages legal doctrine, history, and philosophy concerning equality and liberty as they relate to war, family, and the nonhuman world.
