Lindé Hayen Herman

Biography
Lindé Hayen Herman has been a member of Actors' Equity for more than 40 years. Highlights of her acting career include a national tour of Daisy Mayme with Jean Stapleton and leading roles in Driving Miss Daisy, Steel Magnolias and The Foreigner. Herman was a faculty member at Shenandoah University where she taught acting and was the director of the children's theatre. She founded the touring company of The Showmakers which presented plays to Virginia's school children. In addition to The Enchanted Attic, Herman is the author of several other children's plays including The Virginia Folk Tales, A Royal Gift and We the People. Her plays have been presented at Barter Theatre, Wayside Theatre, Wolf Trap Farm, Mt. Vernon and the Smithsonian Institution. Herman is also the author of the libretto for a one-act opera, Lizbeth, which had its national premiere at the Kennedy Center Terrace Theatre.
