Synopsis
In a search for a life-prolonging elixir, the dark, mysterious alchemist Ligeia dies, leaving her husband Edgar in lonely dispair. Yet he takes another wife, the Lady Rowena, who is mysteriously poisoned by Ligeia's elixir. In the finale, Rowena's corpse rises up from the death bed, and as the shroud is taken away, Ligeia is revealed, coming back to stake her claim over the fallen body of Edgar.
