Emmeline
Composer:Tobias Picker
Librettist:J.D. McClatchy
Synopsis
Emmeline tells the story of Emmeline Mosher, a young girl from a poor family in rural Maine who, in the middle of the last century, is sent to work in the textile mills. Her seduction there by the owner's brash son-in-law leads to a series of events that years later--after a life of anguished silence and a sudden romance--result in a horrible tragedy of discovery and defiance.
