Synopsis
ACT ONE: Coyote is alone in the world. With the help of the Great Spirit, he populates the world with living beings. Coyote is told by the Great Spirit that whenever he dies, he will always come back to life. Coyote steals fire to keep humans warm in the winter, and then falls in love with a star, with disastrous consequences. ACT TWO: Four suitors woo a beautiful maiden, but Pavayoykyasi, the bringer of moisture, succeeds. Coyote disguises himself as Pavayoykyasi and marries the maiden. Pavayoykyasi kills Coyote, but he returns to life.
