Paris and Oenone
Composer:Philip Hagemann
Librettist:Sally M. Gall
Synopsis
A comic treatment of the Greek myth, set in the 1930's Hollywood. When Paris is forced by Zeus to choose who is the most beautiful, Hera, Athena, or Aphrodite, he instead selects his wife, the nymph Oenone. The Trojan War is thus averted, or perhaps not, since Aphrodite, who offers to give Paris Helen as a reward, is seen tempting the wavering husband at the end.
