Synopsis
The action takes place during the Great War, circa 1917, in a small town in Ireland as well as at the front of the war. The story is of Harry Heegan, a football hero, whose life is destroyed when he is wounded and loses the use of his legs. The story also tells of how the war has changed the lives of those around him.
