The Y2K Black Death Oratorio
Composer:Jeff McCune
Librettist:Michael Cavanagh
Synopsis
A parish church is celebrating the return of its local son, Arnold, now a world-famous (but eccentric) composer. The choir is preparing his most recent piece for the service on the first Sunday (Epiphany) of the new 21st Century, when Arnold shows up at the rehearsal. The choir proudly presents his piece, The Y2K Black Death Oratorio. But a 'debate', on how the piece should be presented, now rages between Arnold, Lillian (the choir director) and the two choir section leads.
