Gertrude Stein Invents a Jump Early On

Synopsis
The story opens in 1908 in the Paris studio of Picasso, who is giving a party for the painter Henri Rousseau. In attendance are members of Gertrude Stein's circle, including her companion Alice B. Toklas. Dominating the scene is a shouting match between Stein and her brother Leo, who is embarrassed by her writing. In the second tableau, Stein travels with Toklas in the United States in 1935 on her triumphant lecture tour. In the last scene, newsman Eric Severeid interviews Stein at her home after the libreration of France in 1944.
