The Midnight Court

Synopsis
Based on the celebrated Gaelic poem, the story tells of a dream in which the protagonist, Merryman, is put on trial by a court of fairies for being unmarried and unwilling to take a wife. The social injustice of a woman's dependence on a man for legitimacy is turned on its head. And though there is an undercurrent of man's psychological fear of women's power and sexuality, such heavies are handled with a deft touch.
