Composer:José Evangelista
Librettist:Alexis Nouss
The hero is Alfons van Worden, captain of the Walloon guards of the King of Spain. During a trip to Madrid, he learns from two Moorish princesses that, being a descendant of the Gomelez family, he is destined to perform an important mission. However, he must face numerous trials. In a mysterious castle, he is confronted with the extraordinary tales of a mad kabbalist. While the kabbalist disputes his soul with a rationalist mathematician called Velasquez, van Worden is entwined in a multitude of fantastic and comical situations in which he meets incredible people.
