Everyone is Good for Something
Composer:Victoria Bond
Librettist:Beatrice Schenk de Regniers
Synopsis
The story of a boy trying to find his sense of self-worth in a difficult world. His mother continually scolds him and a mocking chorus taunts him as a failure and good for nothing. He is constantly making a mess of every job he is asked to do. One day a stranger gives him a sack to throw in the river. He opens the sack to discover a magical cat who speaks to him. She takes him on a journey to the land of good-for-nothings where he learns how to help others and by doing so, help himself. He returns to his mother a hero.
