A Sunny Morning
Composer:Alan Stringer
Librettist:Alan StringerJerry Benbow
Synopsis
The elderly Donna Laura and Don Gonzalo (with their young servants) each go to a public park in Madrid to enjoy the morning. The ill-tempered Gonzalo quarrels with Laura because she is using "his" park bench. But since no other benches are available, he must share it with her. In their conversation each discovers that they had been madly in love with one another years before, but neither is willing to reveal his or her past identity openly to the other—each feels too old now. But they make plans to come to the park again tomorrow.
