Synopsis
No Easy Walk to Freedom is a chamber opera based on the life of South African freedom fighter Nelson Mandela. The drama focuses on Mandela's 27-year imprisonment, from 1963 to 1990, and his subsequent election as President in 1994. Between each scene, dancers—accompanied by music indigenous to South Africa—connect the stage action.
