Synopsis
During the American Revolution, Frances Wharton tries to save the life of her brother, who is to be hanged for his loyalty to the British. She is helped by the Spy, Harvey Birch, who is persecuted as a British agent but is secretly working for "Mr. Harper," George Washington's closest confidant. Meanwhile, Frances' sister Sarah almost marries a bigamist; Frances is temporarily fearful that her fiance, Major Dunwoodie, loves a mysterious visitor named Isabella.
