Synopsis
The Roman poet Virgil (baritone) is having trouble writing his epic poem, ^The Aeneid`. His servant Flora (mezzo-soprano) gives him a magic potion which lets him see the past. Neither Dido (lyric soprano) nor Aeneas (high baritone or tenor) are anything like the characters in his poem. The comedy arises from the clash of art and reality.
