Twelfth Night
Composer:David Amram
Librettist:Joseph Papp
Synopsis
The familiar Shakespeare comedy of mistaken identities: Olivia falls in love with Viola, disguised as a boy, and eventually accepts her brother, Sebastian, rescued from a shipwreck. Viola, meanwhile, is in love with Orsino, who is wooing Olivia, but turns his affection to a stranger. The action is further complicated by the intrigues of the comic figures, Sir Andrew Aguecheek and Sir Toby Belch, and by the pretensions of Viola's steward, Malvolio.
