The Inman Diaries
Composer:Thomas Oboe Lee
Librettist:Jesse J. Martin
Synopsis
Arthur Crew Inman was a Boston recluse who, in order to gain immortality, obsessively documented the countless stories (in diaries that run to 155 volumes) related to him by people whom he would pay, in order to hear about their lives in intimate detail. He was especially interested in young women, and was known to have been sexually involved with several of them. He committed suicide in 1963.
