Synopsis
George Bland, rejecting his parents' desire for him to enter politics, goes to Germany to study the piano. He hopes to regain contact with his Jewish heritage, denied by his parents in their efforts to be accepted as English gentry. But even the affectionate support of the writer Somerset cannot prevent tragedy.
