Synopsis
A group of outsiders become enmeshed in the rituals of the Penitentes, a group of Mexican Americans who live in the mountains of New Mexico and Colorado. Their involvement ends in tragedy on Good Friday, traditionally a day when one of the community’s younger members reenacts the crucifixion of Christ.
