Synopsis
The work is concerned with the clash of white and Native American culture and the sorrow it brings. Cynthia Parker, a white girl, abducted during the massacre of Parker's Fort and raised by the Comanches, stays with them for twenty-five years and becomes the wife of Peta Nacoma. She is recaptured by Captain L. S. Ross of the Texas Rangers during the Battle of Pease River and returned to her white relatives.
