Composer:Richard B. Evans
Librettist:Maud GonnePadraic PearseW.B. Yeats
Synopsis
An opportunity to experience the dilemma of the artist's involvement in history through action or creative endeavor, as seen through the persona of W.B. Yeats. Yeats' great love for Maude Gonne is an allegory of his love for Ireland. The four historical characters here resolve the conflicts they were unable to resolve in life, and finally provide hope for peace in Northern Ireland.
