Roman Fever
Composer:Alan Stringer
Librettist:Alan Stringer
Synopsis
Their husbands both dead, Mrs. Ansley and Mrs. Slade are, after many years, again in Rome together. Before, they were young girls in love with the same man. Now they are on vacation chaperoning their daughters. The discontents and pleasures of the older women emerge after their daughters have left for a date with some eligible young Italian men. The women discover that a plot of long ago by Mrs. Slade to separate Ansley from the man they both loved had an ironic result: Ansley's brilliant daughter Barbara, is the natural child of Mrs. Slade's husband, the man they both loved.
