The Folly Pontypool
Composer:Parashkev Hadjiev
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Amadeo Vives
Librettist:Mitchell Hutchings
Synopsis
After the recent death of his rich uncle Albert, the new impresario is forced to take over as the leader of the historic opera house in Pontypool, Wales. After a myriad of cancellations from the current artist roster, Mr. Hutchings finds himself with very few singers to cast in the next performance. He discovers two sopranos who are both determined to become the prima donna in Pontypool. A famous tenor, who is struggling with a love-induced identity crisis, quickly joins the fatuity. In over his head, Hutchings receives a letter from his lawyer that provides a sudden surprise. Utilizing music from Mozart’s The Impresario, and other compositions, The Folly, Pontypool is a farcical original story.
