Synopsis
“Supreme Justice: The Battle for Gay Rights” tackles one of the landmark issues of our time: the struggle to expand the definition of equal rights for all people, regardless of sexual orientation. “‘Supreme Justice" is a 45-minute oratorio for soprano, tenor, and S.A.T.B. vocal quartet, and features the characters of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (soprano) and Justice Antonin Scalia (tenor), as the U.S. Supreme Court discusses and decides the pivotal 2015 Obergefell vs. Hodges case that legalized gay marriage.
