The Hunter Opera Theater is primarily devoted to opera in English and particularly interested in staging some of the hundreds of works that have been heard once or twice and then forgotten or have never been performed at all. To this end, Hunter Opera Theater strives to provide an opportunity for living composers to present their work. We are looking for new or rarely performed operas to showcase in fully-staged productions, with orchestra, to be presented at the Kaye Playhouse, located on the Hunter College campus.  We chose the Kaye Playhouse as our venue because it is a beautiful, centrally-located theater seating 575, large enough to accommodate a full production and still the perfect size for student voices.
