MISSION STATEMENT
Athena Music Foundation introduces new and diverse audiences to the power and beauty of opera and classical music by presenting thrilling performances showcasing great artistic talent in intimate and imaginative public and private venues. Our programs include Athena Music Foundation Concerts, our global touring troupe, The Athenians, and our music education and sponsorship initiatives that support the next generation of promising young performers. At Athena, we envision a world in which opera, classical music, and music from the Great American Songbook can be seen, heard, and enjoyed by a growing audience.
The Athenians have appeared in both private and public events throughout the US and internationally. Based in New York City, The Athenians have built a reputation for their high-caliber, immersive performances presenting the best of opera, Broadway and the Great American Songbook.
Athena Concerts features exceptional artists in compelling and innovative programs open to the public at historic and dynamic venues like Carnegie Hall and Swing 46.
Athena Music Foundation's Music Education and Sponsorship Programs include opportunities for young performers to study with and appear alongside Athena's outstanding artists in our concerts. In addition, Athena partners with the Rockland Youth Symphony to bring dedicated young musicians together to play in a full symphony orchestra under the direction of Dr. Michael Fennelly. Athena Music Foundation also supports the next generation of rising young opera singers by sponsoring top prizes in national and international opera competitions, including The Premiere Opera Foundation International Vocal Competition and Opera Index Competition.
