MISSION STATEMENT
Green Mountain Opera Festival’s mission is to enrich the cultural lives of Vermonters and of its visitors by consistently presenting high quality professional opera productions and concerts. The GMOF also firmly believes in integrating Vermont’s vast artistic community with today’s working opera professionals both national and international.

The Green Mountain Opera Festival, having successfully completed its 9th season, is considered one of New England's premier opera producers.

Sponsored by the Green Mountain Cultural Center [non-profit 501(c)(3)], the festival presents professional opera at the historic Barre Opera House, Sugarbush Resort, venues in Stowe and beyond. Events in Central and Northern Vermont are enjoyed by local and regional visitors alike. They greet performances with warmth, enthusiasm and collectively laud this artistic gem based in the Mad River Valley.

Spanning almost the entire month of June, festival activities include a noted Emerging Artist Program, free open rehearsals, various concerts featuring operatic and broadway styles, a free master class series with leading opera industry professionals, fully staged and semi-staged opera productions accompanied by the Green Mountain Opera Orchestra and Ensemble.
