MISSION STATEMENT
Frost Opera Theater recognizes that today's opera world is vibrant, eclectic, and ever changing. Training, experience, and respect for tradition and innovation are central to the curriculum of opera studies at the Frost School of Music. Frost Opera Theater performance activities reflect the broad range of programming in the 21st century, from Baroque opera to the most progressive works of our time. Recent productions have included Cendrillon (Massenet) The Light in the Piazza (Guettel), The Rake's Progress, Mavra (Stravinsky), Ainadamar (Golijov), Dido and Aeneas (Purcell), Gianni Schicchi, Suor Angelica (Puccini), Jackie O (Daugherty) Strawberry Fields (Torke), Ballymore (Wargo), Die Zauberflöte, Le nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, Albert Herring, L'Enfant et les Sortilèges). Guest composers have included Philip Glass, Anthony Davis, Martin Bresnick, Christopher Cerrone, Michael Torke, Michael Daugherty, Mary Ellen Childs, Michael Dellaira, Richard Wargo, Douglas Cuomo, and Tina Davidson.
