Synopsis
Michelangelo is a coming-of-age story that focuses on the young artist and the obstacles he encounters as he tries to fulfill his artistic vision. “It is a story that anyone who has ever struggled while pursuing their vocation or avocation can identify with,” says the composer/librettist Enrico Garzilli.

The story follows the life of the great Renaissance artist from his youth to his magnificent triumph, the painting of the Sistine Ceiling. Michelangelo struggles against his father, the fire and brimstone preacher Savanarola and his love for Contessina.
