Materials taken from Frida Kahlo's letters and diaries discovered in 2002 and recently published were used for the libretto . The work is made up of approx. thirteen scenes without dramaturgical continuity in which, through personal letters from the painter and annotations made in her personal diary, stages of her life are presented. The work is conceived for a soprano and an actress who functions as the soprano's alter ego.
