SPEED DATING TONIGHT! is a one act comic opera created for opera apprentice programs; opera and musical theater programs at universities; choral groups; and fundraising events. It portrays an imaginary speed dating night at a bar. The middle section of the piece (the dates) can be performed by a varied number of singers. Even genders are not always specified! Order of the pieces is up to the company. There are robust throughlines and subplots, the impression is not of a revue. Over forty productions 2013-2017, including Tri-Cities Opera, Cedar Rapids Opera, Gulfshore Opera, Amarillo Opera, Emerald City Opera. New dates are being continually added to this unique piece.
