Synopsis
Marina: A Captive Spirit is about the brilliant twentieth-century Russian poet Marina Tsvetaeva, who attempts to balance her creative brilliance with her role as a mother, with tragic results; her depression finally leads to suicide. Other characters include two of her lovers, Max Voloshin and Osip Mandelstam; the poetess Anna Akhmatova; and the writer Boris Pasternak.
