Synopsis
The beautiful Nightingale is brought to the court of the Chinese emperor to perform a wondrous song, but it is soon replaced by a mechanical bird, a gift from the Japanese emperor. When the Chinese emperor becomes deathly ill, the mechanical bird, now broken, has to effect on the monarch's impending demise; the real Nightingale, however, begins to sing, and Death is banished, bringing the emperor back to health.
