This opera illuminates the notorious gunslinger and Wild West myth Billy the Kid with the help of eyewitness reports, newspaper articles, photos and fantastic poems. Gavin Bryars and Michael Ondaatje skilfully mix the line between reality and fiction and thus present an intimate, hidden and mystical view of the main character that differs from conventional narratives.
