Christopher Keene, conductor, author, librettist, musician. Recipient Ditson Conductor's award Columbia University, 1991.

Conductor and arts administrator. Assistant Conductor San Francisco Opera 1966, San Diego Opera 1967. Joined conducting staff New York City Opera as Julius Rudel.

Debut with Ginastera's Don Rodrigo 1970, Music Director 1982-1986, General Director since 1989. European debut with Menotti's The Saint of Bleecker Street, Spoleto Festival 1968, then Music Director Spoleto Festival and Spoleto Festival United States of America. Appointed Music Director Artpark 1974, President 1985-1989.

Music Director American Ballet Company 1969-1971. Guest Conductor Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera at Covent Garden, Vienna Volksoper, Hamburg Staatsoper, Deutsche Oper of Berlin, and Netherlands, Santa Fe, Cincinnati, Chicago Lyric, St. Louis, Stuttgart and Baltimore Lyric opera cos.
