Vedem tells the story of several boys held in Theresienstadt, a transport camp in German-occupied Czechoslovakia during WWII. A group of young boys started their own underground newspaper, Vedem, which acted as a creative outlet for poetry, illustration, and coded journalism. The libretto pivots between the passage of time in the camp and translated texts by authors that contributed to the magazine, and speaks to the importance of hearing and remembering their stories.
